The bus pulled into the Arequipa bus terminal aroud 8h30 and after taking our bags out, we tried to book a bus to Cuzco with Ormeno (my new favourite), but they do not have night buses to Cuzco, so we went on a gamble and decided to take Cromotex (and unknown company, but only half the price, let us hope we still have our bags within 48 hours). After some discussions with the local tour operators, we headed to the hostel and checked in (It is a small place, but a-ok).
We slept a bit (only 4 hours, I guess we both needed it) and when leaving the room, the hostel owner (albeit being very friendly, he surely also has a major in being pushy) immediately handed me a map with tours (on the map was printed : Same Same but different and I tried to explain the meaning), but he was only interested in trying to sell us a tour to Colca Canyon, but we did not feel like driving for 6 hours, just to see another canyon (I did not see the Grand Canyon either, but hey). and then headed out to visit the city : Plaza De Armas (I am going to kill someone if I need to visit another PDA) and after a quick lunch, headed on internet to blog a bit and upload some pictures (For you guys, you know). We strolled the Plaza again (Where is my gun) and took some pictures. When leaving our stuff in the hostel and headed back out, the entire city was hit by a power outage (Quite nice to see the PDA power up again, I could have killed someone in the dark without anyone noticing) and sat down a bit (It seemed the PDA is overrun by identical old men all carrying some kind of camera, shooting pictures of the tourists. At a certain moment, we could see 6 of them : evil little men trying to steal your soul with their lightning).

Arequipa is really nice, but not really much to see. The Peruvians are really nice people, most of the time smiling and laughing, but Arequipa also contains a lot of the beggars and hustlers : every 5 foot, you are being asked for money or to buy something.
We found a barrio completely stuffed with bakeries and having cakes in all sizes and colours and in their midst was a little chinese restaurant, where we had a complete meal for 3,5 soles (I went crazy on the Inca cola and drank me a completely bottle). We returned to the hostel and while my girl was resting a bit, I had some beers (If you can call Heineken beer) with some Polish guys. I read some more and we went to sleep.
